Google TV

Ok, so as far as technology goes, I think we're starting to get a bit out of control. I think it's kinda cool that you can have apps on your TV w/ Google TV, but how useful can it really be? I mean, I feel like the novelty of it will wear off fast and then you're left with a really expensive television service that you wont use. Sick, more wires sitting behind your TV that you don't need. It sounds like a very cool idea, bringing everything together, but I feel like once the novelty of watching youtube videos on a larger screen wears off, the whole thing will just fade away until a simpler version comes out.

The 9 Elements of digital citizenship as seen on farmville...etc.

1. Access- well pretty much anyone can access these games as long as you have an internet connection and a facebook. You don't have to pay to play the basic game either so anyone can play.
2. Communication- You can play/interact with your friends from your friends list if they happen to play the same game which gives the games a bit more depth.
3.Commerce- when playing, you can purchase certain things you may need instead of actually playing a long time to get them. You use actual money, which is a complete waste, but hey, people do it.
4. Literacy- Well I'd hope you can read/write seeing as some people spend money playing these games, and if they don't know what they are paying for, they probably shouldn't have access to a debit card.
5. Etiquette- I don't think you will run into the same etiquette problems on facebook games that you will deal with in say playing COD MW2 or something.
6. Law- Can you pirate facebook game points? I'm not sure if there are any legality problems on those games or people trying to make rip-offs of farmville, etc.
7. Security- Playing online and interacting with people you don't know can always put you at risk, especially if they get personal information from you that they shouldn't have.
8. Rights & Responsibilities- You have a right to play these games, considering they are free. But you also have a responsibility to respect others playing, and to not send me a thousand invites.
9.Health & Wellness- I do know for a fact that some people get addicted to these stupid games, but are they as bad as some WOW players?
